WIND TURBINES

Wind turbines are used to generate electricity from the kinetic power of the wind. They have been used more in recent years. There are two main types of wind generators. A vertical axis is more common, though there is also a horizontal axis option. Wind turbines are able to generate large amounts of electricity both onshore and offshore.

Wind turbines convert the kinetic energy of the wind into mechanical power. The mechanical power can be used for many different tasks and be converted into electricity.

Wind is clean, free, and available to us whenever we need it. It is a great resource! All around the world, wind turbines are used to capture the wind’s power and convert it to electricity.
